Always nice to bump into flickr gadfly and man about town Mike or, as he’s more commonly known in these parts: Eyesplash. A shockingly rare treat, considering we live only a block apart! Nice catching up.
addendum: Too funny, after Mike was lamenting the fact that it’s been ages since any of his photos made Explore, my photo of him goes and makes Explore the next day. Be careful what you wish for Mike! :-)

Anyone know what kind of car this is?
Of course much more exciting stuff happening a block away at the Convention Centre where they’re currently filming the new RoboCop movie. I’m feeling a deep sense of geek shame that I hadn’t put two and two together with all the notices posted in our building from ‘Omnicorp’ until I overheard a PA tell someone what movie it is they’re filming on my way home last night. Apparently tonight will be rife with the sounds of simulated gunfire and explosions galore!

At long last, an opportunity has arisen to eliminate those sneaky, fat hobbitses from King Edward Drive.
It’s about time that we bulldozed more of these ‘unique’ and ‘charming’ houses in Vancouver. Allowing them to stand is very misleading, encouraging visitors to think that Vancouver has history and soul. With any luck, this proposal from April 1 can now go forward:

Of course the real shame here is knowing that the owner of this house’s twin on West Broadway has been lovingly restored to it’s original state and is unlikely to be bulldozed any time soon.
(Please note that I’m generally a sarcastic SOB and read this in the spirit it’s intended)

Just before life went all bonkers at the end of March, I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot Compaigni V’ni Dansi performing as part of the Coastal First Nations Dance Festival at the Museum of Anthropology.
It was a great show and, finally, life has settled down to a dull roar and I was able to actually get the shots edited.

Participated in the Marathon once again this year. In as much as ‘took some pictures from my balcony while still in my house coat and sipping my morning coffee’ counts as participation.
I’m exhausted!

Always a pleasure to see everyone’s favourite cloven hoofed baritone saxophonist, Max Murphy out on the town.
Seen here taking a break between sets playing with Battery Opera’s “Bob’s Hospitality Suite and Medicinal Show” as Part of the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Fuse.

Two Tarts Café in the Hycroft Medical Building at 3195 Granville Street (inside the front door and around the corner) is definitely the place to grab lunch on South Granville. Huzzah Natasha!
