1100 Block West Georgia Street on Flickr.
The old Christian Science Reading Room, one of the few notable buildings constructed during World War I in Vancouver and now the Coastal Church sits across the street from the ill fated former site of the Vancouver Art Gallery, vacant since the Art Gallery moved into it’s current location in 1983. Once again under construction after spending nearly a decade as home to a half finished shell of a building and five or so years as a large hole in the ground after financing was lost for a luxury condo tower. Perhaps the third time is the charm?

One of the loveliest buildings in town for sure. I waited and waited for someone to drive an old Model ‘A’ out of the fog but, none were forthcoming.

The fog sure did wonders for Sun Yat Sen Gardens over the weekend, much more pastoral with all the high rises in the background safely obscured from view.

The thick fog that has blanketed the hood for the last 5-7 years (I think, might’ve just been a few days) has abated somewhat today, leaving just a nice mist over the harbour.

Feeling very Blade Runner in Vancouver of late. Likely couldn’t pass a Voight-Kampff test to save my life right now.

At last, a chance to get out and wander with a camera. Alas, the lovely light fog and blue skies we’ve had all week weren’t there this morning, just a fully socked in pea soup fog. Still, fun was had
